MODERN BIRTHING SUITES
The New Gateway Building introduced a new hospital avenue corridor link from the expansive car-park linking the upgraded Main Entry lobby which was extensively refurbished along with a new 6 Theatre Complex by Pulse Architecture Pty Ltd.
The new internal Hospital Avenue corridor resulted in the extensive modernisation and reconfiguration of the existing Birthing Complex. The innovative Pulse design introduced a world leading Hotel Style Birthing Suite environment which includes the latest pain management techniques including controlled mood lighting, surround sound natural Infection Control materials & large accessible baths and adjoining high flow double showers en-suites.
Hutchinson Builders recently won the Master Builder Awards for Health Facilities under $20M for this Maternity Ward Refurbishment.
One of the challenges for this 3,670 square meter project was to shorten the building program delivering the project in record time as a result Pulse’ experience in similar state of the art projects at the Mater in North Sydney. Pulse with the early involvement of the Hutchinsons Builders in Toowoomba developed a tilt-up concrete wall system that has ensured quality and speed on site.
The construction for this exciting project – started in Late 2019 with the creation of the Hospital avenue and refurbishment of the Birthing Hotel. The project is on schedule for completion in November 2020.
